Chicago Blues Fest 2012 Day 1

Chicago is known world wide as the home of the blues. During the 1950's the migration of black people from the south to Chicago provided a deep well of talent for the cities record labels to draw from. Names like Muddy waters, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy & Howlin Wolf all made their names here in the windy city. Every June for the past 28 years the city plays host to the worlds largest free blues festival. It takes place in Grant Park in the heart of downtown and offers a half dozen stages of entertainment as well as food, drinks and more.

For the past three years I have been posting clips from some of the acts I've seen there and this year is no exception. On Friday there were two artists that wanted to see playing in the late afternoon; Vasti Jackson out of Mississippi and from the west coast Joe Louis Walker. Here is a clip from each of them and you will find more at ChicagoRock1 on YouTube.

If your in the area and want to check it out here is a link to the complete lineup.
